About Gastroenterology
The Gastroenterology department of Saifee Hospital is a highly active facility providing comprehensive speciality care by eminent gastroenterologists of Mumbai. Both Clinical Gastroenterology and Endoscopy are adequately represented. Clinical Gastroenterology involves complete management of diseases like acidity, diarrhoea, jaundice, cirrhosis of the liver, pancreatitis, colitis, gallstones, weight loss or gain, cancers of the gastrointestinal system and also gastrointestinal bleeding. The Gastroenterology department is backed by state of the art videoendoscopes which are used not only to diagnose GI diseases but also to treat the same. This obviates the need for standard surgery and prevents scars and shortens hospital stay. Newer treatments now available for:

About Endoscopy
Endoscopy procedure is minimally invasive and is used to assess the condition of inner body surfaces/parts by using an Endoscope. This procedure is used not only for diagnosis but also treatment eg. The department also has an Endoscopic Ultrasound capability, which makes Saifee Hospital one of the few centres in India to possess it. These are used not only for diagnosis but for treatment also. This obviates the need for standard surgery and prevents scars and shortens hospital stay. Endoscopy service is available not only during routine hours but also as an emergency service round-the-clock.
